The high end stuff (white) leaves an exceptional finish.  It also leaves a
dent in the wallet.

Comparing the finish with a phase shifting interferometer the difference is
moot.

I've nevered tried settling baige CEO (what we use at Chabot).  As is, it
leaves an awful finish.

If you're worried about smoothness using rouge or high end CEO, you should
also look at the lapping material, pH, technique, your shoe size,...
