ATM Adjustable virtual counte weight

I spent the last 2 weeks in Texas at my in-laws, I took a short tube 80
with me. I just brought a small photo tripod and head to mount it on,
which worked fine for low power but useless for anything over 40X. So I
decided to build a small "dob-fractor" mount while I was there. It took
about $12 and 7 hours or so and worked MUCH better except for one little
problem: When I changed to a Radian EP from a Plossl it significsntly
unbalanced the altidude axis. I had to add an extra weight (what was
handy was a bag of pretzels, which kept on getting lighter as the week
wore on!). It was a pain in the neck to keep changing weights for
different EPs.

I was wondering if it would be possible to make an adjustable virtual
counter weight system for the dob-fractor? I can easily see how to do it
for a certain EP, but I'm not so sure how to make it adjustable. Any
thoughts?
