Re: ATM 3" spherical OK for scope?

My first telescope was a 3" f/11 spherical, made from a furniture castor
cup. I tested it with a contraption made out of a band-aid can. I put that
baby on Saturn, and it was, "Hey, Dad, come on out here and look at this!"
My father did not approve of mirror making. He thought it was some weird
kind of trance. He was probably correct, but so what?

Alas, furniture castor cups and band-aid cans are relics of the last
century.
