ATM : Building a Grinding Machine

Well Folks
The machine is almost done .It has a 12' platter(3/4 inch ply mounted on a
turntable from old gramophone) and a motor salvaged from an icecream
machine. Everything seems to work woithout the mirror and tool mounted.
Table runs at 31 rpm and the eccentric at 7 rpm.
I now want to load the machine with the mirror and tool and try it out under
actual working conditions. But before that two questions:
1) I have the full sized polishing tool which I was using for manual
polishing. Can I use the same? BTW the mirror and tool are 8 inches.
2) What stroke should I use ? COC MOT 1/3?
