Re: ATM re failing silicone

Your question on Polyurethane cured adhesives is a very good one. I use
polyurethane cured adhesives extensively on cracks in my indoor poured
concrete swimming pool. The one I use is Permaceal brand permanent nitrile
rubber. This material is sold in swimming pool outlets. In that
environment, chlorine, 85F water, physical abuse, it works very well. The
only problem with the one that I use is that it takes about 24 hours to
cure. But once cured, the polyurethane cured nitrile rubber "sealer and
Joint filler" is tough and flexible, adhering to cement and metal without
failing. It is really tough to clean out and replace when cleaning and
repainting the pool. Some urethane cured adhesives are the quick setting
type and they do not have the strength of the longer cure material.

People are in a hurry.
