It also seems to me that binocular Newtonian telescopes would have better
resolution (theoretically) because of the spread of the two mirrors. But
from the various postings on Newtonian binocs, it sounds as if they are
better used at low magnifications - high magnifications making it difficult
to merge images etc. - so the theoretical resolving power is hard to reach.
I have binoviewers but have never looked through Newtonian binocs (though I
am seriously considering building one) so my thinking may be seriously
unresolved. Can anyone with real experience and/or knowledge clarify this?
