I've experimented with both electronic and optical means of moving windows
closer together for evaluation.

For video setups, a simple way is to hold a mirror at 90 degrees to the
screen, close to your eye. With a little fiddling around you can move the
reflection of one window next to the direct view of the other. Best to
mount the mirror on a support. There are 1 eye and 2 eye variations of
this...hard to explain, easy to set up. There will be some minor data skew
from light loss on the reflected image.

Bottom line is, just masking out all the irrelevant windows on the screen
makes it a lot easier to judge the two you are interested in, even without
further "bringing together."
