Re: ATM amateur infrared imaging




I had hope to use an IR camera for the "Science Camera," hence the focal 
plane arrays (PICNIC/NICMOS).  They seem pretty easy to build a camera around.

I think you're correct on the APDs, though in talking with the local rep the 
ones used to photon count are a selected gade of device (very low noise) and 
you pay for the extra testing.
