Here's the $0.00 solution...

I once used a Dobson style focuser.  The eyepiece was carried by a piece of
chrome plated, bathroom fixture tubing that just slid back and forth in a
rolled cardboard tube.  The tube was glued to the scope.  I was amazed at
how well it worked!  Very subtle focus adjustments were possible.  You had
to both push and twist, easy to do.  Worked much better than the old
high-friction Coulter variation.
