I read a discussion in an optics book once that described the production
technique for these corrector plates. It pointed out that the precision
of the shape of the corrector need not be very stringent and that the
common method to produce these correctors was to pour plastic in
between two metal disks that had the approximate negative image of the
desired curves. I can't comment on this because I have not tried this.
I am only repeating what was found in an older optics textbook I found
at the public library in Berkeley, California, USA. Don't recall the
author's name, but that library only had a couple books on optics if
anyone wants to pursue this....
