With the tool on top of the mirror (TOT), the edges should have come clean
first if the tool and mirror are the same diameter.  With a subdiameter
tool, you need to spend the time at the edge to get it ground out right.
Subdiameter tools work most where they are being used so if you aren't at
the edge most of the time, you won't be hitting that part of the mirror.
You should be hanging the tool out at and over the edge most of the time and
don't forget to be turning the mirror all the time or you will end up with
nasty things like astigmitism and so forth.  Also, don't ride too far over
the edge or you may start rolling the edge down.
