RE: ATM astronomy software?
Since long ago I have been using a software called Sky Map. I have not used
other software so I can´t make a comparision. You can download a trial
version at www.skymap.com there is nothing to loose.
I had found that this software gives me a lot for what it cost and for the
use I make of it.
I´m in no way related to the Sky Map guys.

Subject: ATM astronomy software?
Hello to all,
I am looking for a software package that will help me find objects in the
sky. I was involved many years ago with astronomy as a kid and I am now
getting back into it with my children (3yr 6yr 9yr). So needless to say, it
has to be fairly easy so that my 9 yr old can follow along with me and
explore as he learns. We will then take the info out and try to find things
in the sky. We have used star wheels, but I saw a demo of a software
package that puts it in a back yard setting and tracks the stars and planets
as they move in real time. Does anybody have any suggestions?
thanks in advance
charles
