Re: ATM Anyone interested in making a 6" cat. Herschelian?

Matt, thanks for the response

there is no "asking price"!!! This lens was professionally generated to a
very critical wedge and thickness. I'd bet that having one made in an optical
shop would be a couple hundred dollars. I simply had to fine grind, polish
and figure the convex without losing the thickness. The convex still needs a
*little* touchup to get it perfectly spherical; it is dead on the ROC. I
still have a lap and tool for it.

I'd like two things... an assurance that this scope would be built, and right
now, not at the end of a list of projects (I want to pass it to someone who
is presently planning to build a fine lunar/planetary scope *and* who has
made a good mirror previously; this is no project for a beginner) and
secondly, maybe the recipient would send me something interesting
 :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
