There is a software program called skyglobe which is basically a
computerised starfinder. As you move the pointer across the screen, it gives
you both RA/Dec and Alt/Az coordinates for the position of the pointer (and
therefore stars). You can download it free off the 'net. It is a dos version
though there is a windows 3.1 version which is better but does not run
happily on win95
