ATM - Worm gear source?

Hi,

I've got the opportunity to purchase a small german equatorial head for
about 50$.  I'm looking at it with the intention of disassembling it
and using the two small worm asseblies for my 12" dob (per Mel's
design).  Do these mounts have a worm for Declination, or what?  I
obviously want two gear trains...  The ads for celestron's mount in S&T
show not much room for a worm gear of any size.

Has anyone tried tearing one of these things apart?

I'm told its a clone of the Celestron G-3 mount.  I haven't seen it
firsthand, but I'm tempted to get it if it really contains the gears I
need.
