Re: ATM 10" Problems
Dale, I have a 10" f5 and for
comparison can usually see the rings on saturn, the crossing of a
satallite,
deep into the craters on the
moon and all stars are pinpoints. Most doubles can be split (to my
dia. limit)
Venus gives a quarter view, and mars has ice colored caps.
Nebulas are difficult because I live in a light
filled area, but the major ones are available and the central
stars in Orion are distinct.
You say that the spikes on stars change position when you
change eye position. That leads me to
think it is the eyepiece. That everyting turns yellow at
high power is unknown to me. Beg borrow or
steal another eyepiece or two and compare. Coultier is
not my favorite manufacturer (read that fabricator)
but you should see more than spikes and flares. The spikes can
be expected and should be the same
number as your spider vanes. They will show up opposite
the vane when you have three.
Keep trying,
