Hi:
Cut a wooden plug to fit the hole and remove it when you polish, you don't
need the hole filled when you polish.
I don't know if your center hole is beveled, but if it isn't I would put a
small bevel on it to keep small flakes from breaking off and scratching the
surface when you polish.
