Hmmm. That's not bad. I could definitely thread it myself (I don't need "all
thread",  only a 2 foot piece with thread on about 10" of it).

Weight. It's not going to be bolted/unbolted often.

Even against sideways flexing (I'm going to have about 18 lbs hanging on a
horizontal free end of about 4")? OK, where can I get threaded steel tubing?
