ATM New stepper motor from Oriental Motors

I just received (unsolicited, I'm not sure how I got on their mailing list)
from Oriental Motors a newsletter describing their "alphastep" motor. It
is apparently a combination of a stepper motor and a sensor to detect the
rotor's position. It is advertised as a closed-loop positioning device
with better characteristics than a conventional servo motor. Might be just
the ticket for someone who wants to build a motion controlled mount. No
pricing is given, but I suspect we're talking some big bucks. However, if
anyone is interested in exploring this further, their address is:

Oriental Motor U.S.A. Corp
2510 W. 237th Street #102
Torrance, CA 90505
Phone# (310) 325-0040

I remember once talking to one of their engineers about identifying the
leads on one of their stepper motors that I had come across. He was very
friendly, but I can't remember his name. Maybe one of the CA ATMer's on
the list might be able to contact them for some more information.
