ATM polymer optical window

It seems that finally all of us could put an optical window on ours
newtonian tubes. I saw at the Astro-Physics web sites
(www.astro-physics.com) that they just introduced a polymer film they
declare diffraction limited. It's made in Europe by Baader Planetarium.
I have the solar (aluminized) version of this film and it outperforms both
Thousand oaks type2 plus glass filter and mylar in resolution.
As far as I know optical windows will be benefical for the tube telescopes,
so that the tube currents are stopped. Will an optical window be of benefit
for the truss tube newtonian with a light shroud too?
