Actually MOT is my preferred method of grinding large thin mirrors.
While there is some flexing, it is regular and can be taken into account
during figuring.  The pluses are avoidance of stig and no worry about
supporting the mirror.  I first read of this many years ago from
Ritchey's accounts of doing large blanks.
