I have only done the over-coat-to-harden once, and it worked fine (I'm a
better mixer
now and don't have gooey spots anymore!).  But seeing Bob's suggestion, I
must admit I 
might also be more comfortable removing the gooey spots and redoing them
completely...
I guess we both learned a possible new technique today :)

Bob is right, though -- the expoxy-coated sonotube is TOUGH, and worth the
effort.
