This is not the same as Polyvinly acetate, is it?  My impression is that PVA
is +/- benign.

On the subject of chemicals:  I've heard numerous recommendations that the
silicone adhesive of choice for mounting mirrors is the *alcohol cured* type,
rather than the acetic acid cured.  Supposedly fumes from the latter might
damage coatings (?).  Recent trips to my local hardware stores find only two
types of silicone adhesive:  The acetic acid kind, and some other type which
mentions neither acetic acid nor alcohol, but  rather some longer chemical
name I've forgotten.

Advice?
