ATM Analysis of Nasmyth/Cass in OSLO Lt....
Hi all,
[First, I have to echo Bratislav's sentiments that the moon mirror
discussion is wasting lots of bandwidth. There must be a more
appropriate forum for this thread...!]
OK, here's what I've been up to with OSLO: After spending quite a few
hours learning how the program works, I finally managed to get a design
for a Nasmyth-Cassegrain telescope in there...and the initial results
(at least those that I almost understand :-) are as follows:
Spot size: 0.012 mm (8% larger than the diffraction limit)
Wavefront error: 0.05 waves RMS, 0.16 waves peak-to-valley
Astigmatism: 0.6 waves (S and T)
which doesn't seem too bad. Of course, that's with a _very_ specific
hyperboloid secondary mirror. If anybody is interested, I'll be happy
to send you the lens file.
And if any other OSLO users are going to Stellafane, I'll be the guy
waving the MTF plots and looking confused!!!
regards,
Pat Ferrick
