No cringing or growling from me. Sounds good.  Can you let us know how much
the stalk needs to be bent to spread the diffraction enough?  I guess this
would make centering, etc. the diagonal more difficult... but still do-able, I
hope.

Also, I'm glad to hear that a stalk can be that thin.  No problems with extra
vibration or sagging out of alignment?  I guess the along - axis dimension
could be more than the width.  How long is the stalk, i.e. how much of it is
unsupported?
