Some years ago I was faced with cutting many clean holes in thick rubber.
Using a punch worked, but not as well or as quickly as needed. Ultimetly,
I froze the rubber with LN2, since then I sucessfully used dry ice, and
drilled the rubber in a drill press.
Also, the last time I was looking for a piece of rubber for a button lap, I
found it at an engine gasket company.
