Many years ago I had a set of special polarizing filters (removed from some military surplus junk) that, when one was rotated relative to the other, yielded little transmissive loss all the way to a deep red color. I have well understood common polarizing filters for many years, but this one is a puzzle. Who can explain what this was all about?
