ATM announce: CCD conference, yes we will talk about telescopes for CCDs

YES! We will talk about the latest in telescopes and drive systems
suitable for CCD imaging:

Pardon the slight intrusion, but we thought the following might be of
some interest to some members of this list. This will be our fourth year

of holding this conference and we've attempted to use the feedback from
the participants to improve it each year. This year will by far be our
most ambitious undertaking.
Thanks. (For any updates, check out our website (see address below.)

You are invited to Imaging the Sky '98, an extravaganza of color CCD
imaging information for the amateur astronomer, Friday and Saturday,
November 6th and 7th, at the Tokyo International University of America's

campus in Salem, Oregon (near the State Capitol, across the street from
Willamette University)
.
Our featured guests this year are:

Dr. Kunihiko Okano, who pioneers color algorithms. Visit Okano's Web
site (http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~rt6k-okn) to see spectacular
true-color images of deep sky objects.

Al Kelly and Chuck Shaw, two Texas observers using breakthrough
four-color imaging techniques. Visit Al Kelly's Web site
(http://www.ghg.net/akelly/) and Chuck Shaw's Web site
(http://www.ghgcorp.com/cshaw/) to see examples of their work.

Rob West, outstanding astro-imager from upper New York state will show
how he takes high-resolution color images with a Cookbook CCD camera.

Dr. Morley Blouke, CCD Designer at SITe, with CCD’s operating on the
HST, Galileo, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, will speak on color
sensitivity of CCD cameras.

Learn about:
Producing accurate color images
Breakthrough process of quad-color imaging
Hardware: filters, chip response
How to acquire necessary raw data in the field
The new CMY filter techniques
Color printers / monitors optimization

There will be topics of interest for all levels of serious CCD imagers.
