ATM Newbie taking the plunge
Okay, I've read and I've surfed and I've read some more
and I've surfed some more, and I've decided to take the
plunge and build a scope. Here's what I had in mind:
8" f/6 Alice-like scope.
Why? Well, mainly because it's the largest scope that
will fit in my cargo-challenged sports car.
The only concern I have right now is the stability of
the twin truss tube design. I did a mock up in spare
cardboard, and I noticed a lot of play torsionally in
my mock tubes. Granted they were made of three layers
of corrugated cardboard instead of aluminum, but it still
bugged me.
Is this something I should be worried about?
