Pete,

I was living in Santa Cruz when they first were working on FPOA. As I
recall, there was a considerable amount of funding raised through an
auction of equipment donated to Kevin Medlock by Celestron at Riverside
back in '83 or so (my memory is a little foggy.) I think it raised quite a
bit of the funds required. (There were also some interesting side stories
associated with this event at the time <g>.)
