For those that are interested (and if you've got a JAVA capable
browser) http://www.acil.ttu.edu/Raul_Machuca/ shows
two relatively simple expert system demos. I recommend looking at
the one dealing with setting up a radar site, examining its 17
IF/THEN rules and running it a few times. Also take a look at the
diagram of part of its decision tree.
The Army acronmyms don't help, but this does show one way to set up
an expert system. . .and I bet many of the non-programmers can take a
stab at understanding the IF/THEN rules (if not the Army acronyms)!
