Almost all small telescope truss designs use 8 truss tubes. It seems possible to use only 6 truss tubes and save on some weight and expense, especially if one was going to use expensive composite tubes. Are there any reasons why a 6 tube design for small scopes might not work as well as an 8 tube design? Donald Clement
