Hi:
Just something I would like to bring up about voltage tol.
over the years working on circuitry I have had a lot of
failures of close voltage tolerances eg: 12v circuit,
15v cap. There is supposed to be 50% overage on the cap
rating before failure, but it ain't necessarily so. The
close ones have a much higher failure rate, So you
might want to think about using a high voltage rating
when constructing. A manufacturer may use close tolerances
when assembling, because the difference between a 15v and
a 20v, or 25v, when buying in quanity (10,000) will result
in a saving, but the extra .05, .10, or .20 will make
little difference for a quanity of 3 or 4., and may save
major headaches later. Tantalums do flame when failing
and can cause a lot of damage to the circuit board and
surrounding components.
