ATM Sonotube is good for making cement columns...
Why is everyone looking for Sonotube? It is cheap (but often it looks
cheap)... it is heavy.... it is often covered in wax... it is paper and
absorbs holds moisture... the spyder may collapse the tube without
reinforcing, etc. Get something like the "Fiber reinforced thermost
epoxy matrix" tubing from Apogee (815) 923-1602. More expensive but
what else do you want to use to hold many hundreds of dollars worth of
optics together? The tubing is only 1/8" thick and you can literally
lay it on its side and jump on it and it will neither dent or flex. It
also has a thermal conductivity that is 700 times less than aluminum.
(I sound like I am selling the stuff but really
have no affiliation... I promise).
For others that are looking for tubing.....
