INMHO, Berry's 72 stroke to completely paraboloize a six mirror and Texereau's
one hour to complete an 8" from sphere are unintentional disservices to most
first time mirror makers.  Maybe if one has made dozens of mirrors these
times might be accurate but for most of those on the list who have made more
surfaces than they can count on their fingers and toes, the above times are
jokes.  
It just isn't going to happen; you are going to screw up the first time
unless you are truly savant. The only way to make a mirror is by trial and
error and most of the time it will be truly an error filled trial.  The
beauty of the process is that with a modicum of skill and huge dose of
"stick-to-itiveness" it can be done and the real reward is more than just a
fine view of the universe.
