Re: ATM eyepieces
I called a place up in Boulder, CO. (Mikes' Cameras),
and asked if he carried the 3x televue barlow. He
said "No! You don't want a 3x." I asked why and he said
thats way too much power. I informed him I had an 8"f/6.7
scope, and with my 12mm E.P. it would only be around 340x.
He was very sure of himself that 200-250 was the highest
magnification that I could go 'around here', meaning Colorado.
I thought being a mile high was an advantage, not the other way around.
Maybe it was really cause all he carried was 2x barlows?
Can't you use a 3x barlow and say a nice 18-30mm lense if you want
to 'tone' down the power and still have a E.P. with nice eye relief?
Maybe I'm lost...haha
