Thanks for the numbers! Now it's off to the bandsaw...
Also, many thanks for the truly superb documentation of your motion-controlled dob! This is really a ground-breaking design and is a trend I expect to see more of in the coming months. Your docs give the concept a very helpful push.
And what's more, thanks for the ronchii program! So aided, I just may just yet tackle a large mirror!
Anyway, the 30" is almost done. Steve Dodds seems to have done a good job on the mirror, at least as far as appearance and ronchii tests can determine. The scope is designed to fit inside the rather cramped camper shell on my Nissan light truck. Nothing radically lightweight, but at least it's a scope that one man should be able to transport, remove, and set up in a reasonable amount of time. I've got a ramp system worked out. Bungee cords serve as a passive winch replacement to help ease the 240 pound beast up and down the ramps without mowing down the guy on the wheelbarrow handles. This may be the world's first bungee jumping telescope!
Please give me a call if you ever pass through Albuquerque. I'll be glad to show the sights and possibly some starlight! 505-263-5949.
