Subject: Kilian's scope

Well, I went over to Dale Eason's house the other night, and looked through ACTUAL eyepieces, and things were real nice. The things I learned are:

1) Mosquitos can actually carry off a large fraction of your bodily fluids. 2) My mount sucks.

The mount I have came from Dale since he didn't want it. It's a 1.5 Inch water pipe mount that has 1 Inch steel shafts in bronze bushings.

When you touch it on high power, it never stops moving. Blech.

So I am continuing full speed on the aluminum 1-5/8 Inch shaft mount. My new job has a ginormous vertical mill that I can use to bore some holes in plate aluminum for the shaft ends, so things will be able to proceed. I'll let you all know when I get things done.

Question: Who makes clock drives and worm gears? All I know about is OptiCraft which gets $455 for a 6 Inch diameter gear clock drive.

Ps: Bob gets the tube, I'll send it soon. (Read that as someday)
