I used, almost exclusively, Neale Howard's "Standard Handbook of Telescope Making" for my first scope -- I learned to Foucault test withits aid, but several times I wished I had a _human being_ present to show me what I should be looking for and how to set it up -- no substitute, IMHO.

I got hold of the Millies-Lacroix method of test reduction froma "Telescope Making" magazine, but if you have TEX.ZIP you should be fine.
