optical glass

A friend of mine stumbled across a real deal at a local garage sale. He got
three 12.4" pyrex blanks for $10 each. (he doesn't want to sell any just
yet, but he _will_ eventually :-)) Anyway, the guy also gave him a whole box
full of stuff, including some old grit in rusty cans that I told him he
should throw away. There were a whole bunch of rough prisms (unpolished) and
several pieces of extremely clear glass which had "optical glass" stamped on
them. They were about 6" in diameter and approx 2-3" thick. We were both kind
of wondering what this stuff is worth (if anything?) and what it could be
used for... a lens blank maybe?
