Mike! Great suggestion on the source of reflective tape! I just never thought about that location. What about the yellow reflective tape bikers use? Heck, there must be plenty of useable material lying around. Remember if you make a kluge like this to call it a "bobshire". I didn't give it this name, one of the guys in the club did.
