Not personally, but I've seen it done commercially on TV. I guess it
depends a lot on the type and grade of plastic, but the process I saw
involved fine diamond grinding to shape and then polishing with what looked
like CeO2, but with a soft pad rather than a pitch lap.

Not Aluminising, but I've had Polycarbonate optical components
anti-reflective coated successfully. The process has some
similarities.
