I've had luck with fining inch thick glass with archetical glass
places.  The guys that make sandblasted signs was where I found
mine.  I'll note that the armour glass places don't have anything
that thick in a  single piece as they layer glass and plastic so
as to gain the bullet stipping abil9ity.  Sort of like windshield
glass of the olden days only several layers.  You may find some
old glass used for that purpose from an old building. but then
again, maybe not.
