Rouge is a quite slow polishing compound. Ceroxid is by far faster. After 
7-15 hours polishing with CEO you can polish out scratches that are not too 
deep.

No good idea

I would leave the scratches as they are. What makes the mirror is a good 
courve. Sratches have a very small influence (small surface area involved), 
if they are not too many.

Your Foucault images look like an allien sun in H-Alpha. Much smaller cut 
selection of your images would do as well.
