Re: [ATM] questions about the condition of this mirror

Got the page but no pictures on it. Just a line at the top left
saying MY 12" PYREX MIRROR PROJECT. and a graduated blue
background.

Scratches on the back can easily be gotten rid of by appropiate
sized grit to gain a flat ground surface. Don'ty bother to try
for a polish as this will be unimportant. Stop at any point you
desire. What you need is a smoothlyu shaped surface free of
large scrates and so forth.
Remember thta the glass is reflecting only four percent of the
light and this inludes the back surface. Whatever may be behind
the glass will also show up in the image as well as to your eye.
This is why you really ca't do a mirror stand that doesn't cover
the whole backside of a piece of glass without haing to
compensate for the differeences from the background coming
through. Frosted backsides reduce that problem by a large
amount.
