The thing with diamond tools is that you let them do the work.
Get the surface speed up and they'll cut glass like butter while
slow surface speeds allow for good control and yet a high speed
of glass removal.  Remember that glass breaks with high stress so
keep the heavy stress off of the glass and things will be fine.
Also, don't forget to chamfer the edges well!  A 90 deg. corner
is looking for a chip and you'll get one real fast with diamond
tools.  You also want to use a lot of water to cool the diamonds
and also keep the glass dust under control.
