Re: [ATM] solar telescope design with heliostat



A long ago S&T article about Flandrau (sp?) Planetarium in Arizona
showed a projection spectroscope that spread the spectrum out to 6 feet.
 The projection screen was curved to match the geometry (Rowland
circle?) of the spectroscope.  They had a fluorescent extension of the
screen at the low wavelength end to make the UV visible.  I think they
had the sunlight coming in through the ceiling, or at least high on the
wall, so the projection path was overhead.  That did put the screen up
high, but it allowed direct instead of back projection.  I believe the
article said that a large number of absorption lines could be seen.
