[ATM] solar telescope design with heliostat
Got my hands on a used heliostat, almost (but not quite) completely disassembled. Got printouts on the electronics, which are 22 years old. Want to set up a system to display a nice solar spectrum, with lots of absorption lines, for student visual use, sorta like what they have at the Snow Horizontal Solar Telescope. Appears that they used a very long-flocal-length parabolic mirror as mirror #3 and had 3 other flat mirrors; having fans blowing on the mirrors all the time helped prevent distorion from the sun's heat. Got one or 2 flats that might work, but need a decent location. Looks like a very big job. Any thoughts?
