[ATM] The results of the glass casting run.

OK everyone, 

 

I have posted the pictures and results of the glass casting run. The

I’m quite happy with the results. Would I do things differently next
time? Offcourse I would, as I out line in the short write up there were
a few minor problems that I could have prevented, and now I have a
better idea of how this kiln behaves under load, so the next run will
work much better. 

 

I think that two of these blanks are fit to grind so one will be sent to
an optician I have been in contact with in the past regarding this
project and we will see what happens. As for the others, well I will try
to clean them up a bit better, and do a cooling rate test to see how
much better they behave than a full thickness blanks of similar size
does. I will also monitor them to see if they develop any strain over
time, they shouldn’t but it’s better to know now than find out later! 

 

Well I will let everyone know how the test blank came up after it’s trip
to the optician’s;)
