[ATM] (not) grinding with diamond

There are a few things that you can do, and most of them have already been
mentioned by others:
1. Keep the pressure as high as possible. After some hours of work, the area
where the tool is in contact with the glass becomes bigger and bigger, so
that the pressure per area decreases. At this point, I recommend to adjust
the angle of the tool so that the contact area becomes smaller.
2. If the pressure is too small, it's necessary to sharpen the diamond tool
from time to time with carbo grit.
3. Higher cutting speed would also help, but I avoid this because I don't
want to get too much glass dust in the air.
Have a look at my diamond grinding machine:

Sorry, the text is in german only. There are two Mpeg videos on that page.
The pressure between the tool and the glass is:
-- weight of tool, about 5kg
-- plus weight of motor, about 10kg
-- plus additional weights mounted at the end of a long lever, about 40kg
and it's still not enough pressure.
